CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

"Swiss Valley Rangers Football Club is committed to the Football Association's Policy on Child Protection. We will create and preserve the safest possible environment for children to participate in football activity.

We encourage positive comment and support from coaches, parents and supporters, and strongly discourage criticism of players and officials.

We accept that children's welfare is paramount and all children, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious beliefs or sexual identity, have the right to protection from abuse. All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately."

A full copy of the Club's policy document is available on request.

Swiss Valley Rangers have in addition adopted the FA's Child Protection Policy, and implemented the advice in the FA Child Protection Procedures & Practices booklet.

Swiss Valley Rangers FC recognises its' role in the community and the trust placed in the Club by parents who have enrolled their children as members of the Club.

The Club's Child Protection Policy seeks to support the children in ways that will foster confidence and security whenever they are participating in Club activities.

The Club will seek to work together with parents to ensure the safety of the children at all times (e.g. Arrangements for dropping-off and collection of children at training and matches should be drawn to the attention of both Managers/Coaches and the children).

  • All children will be valued as a member of the Club.
  • Parents will be kept well informed about Child Protection issues
  • Every member of the Committee, all Managers/Coaches, and any person acting on behalf of the Club has a responsibility to ensure that the children are kept within a safe environment at all times.
  • If anyone has any concerns regarding the welfare of the children they must refer the matter to the Club Child Protection Officer(s).
  • Any child who has an individual concern should speak to any member of the committee or the Club Child Protection Officer(s) in the first instance.
  • A record of all referrals and the resulting action that is taken will be maintained by the Club.
  • This record will be available for reference at any time.
  • All Managers/Coaches will undergo Child Protection Training.
