Players are expected to accept and conform to the philosophy
that the team is greater than any one individual and that the
sum of all parts can achieve more than any single part by
itself.
To this extent, players are expected to strive to build and
maintain team spirit as the key factor in creating a cohesive
and strong team.
All players within a particular year group will be coached
together irrespective of team membership. Players will be
trained together for technical skills, tactical play, team
strategy and mental development.
Players will be given an equal opportunity to develop and
improve and obtain team membership that is equitable to their
ability - it is down to each individual to grasp this
opportunity.
The selection of teams is based on merit only. Merit can be
defined as an individual's technical ability, attitude, mental
and physical strength and the application of all these
components within the confines of a competitive match.
It is believed that by playing teams that are based upon
the abilities of the players, the players are able to play
with confidence at a standard that suits them.
Squad systems involving the use of substitutes are utilised
and are based on merit.
It is expected that players will accept and execute the
Manager's and Coaches decisions in a positive manner at all
times whilst on the field of play and representing the Club in
both friendly and competitive matches.
The aim is to achieve a balance between enjoyment and
pressure, competitiveness and sportsmanship, development and
winning.
Determination is the cornerstone of the team system of
play.
Success on the field is brought about by the success of the
team off the field and we therefore encourage the support of
players' families and their contribution to the Club's
development.
